The 1ST annual Heroes' Breakfast honoring all active and retired Smyrna/LaVergne firefighters, police officers and other first responders will be on September 20TH in the fellowship hall. Volunteers are needed to help cook, serve and clean-up. Sign-up at the welcome center. For more details contact Leslie Harper at 202.8265.
We will have an intermission for drinks and snacks. Drinks and popcorn will be provided. Please bring snack foods to share such as chips, finger foods, desserts, etc.
This event draws thousands to the heart of Smyrna so we set up an attractive tent display, greet folks, handout church activity materials and invite them to our services. Contact Danny Wells for more info. Please bring packaged cookies for us to give out to those in the community who come by the tent. Please place the cookies in the marked bin in the main foyer. The last day to bring cookies is Friday, September 26TH.
Don't forget to stop by the table in the foyer and sign up for our Hospitali-Tea. September 21ST is the last day to sign up. Our theme this year is "Elegance". The meal tickets are $5. If you would be willing to make 3-4 pies for the dessert table, please call Debbie Hardy at 615.830.2160. We need pies for about 200 ladies. If you are unable to sign up at the table and would like to attend, please call Amanda Gilreath at 268.6335 or Andra Davis at 848.8672.
The last Missions Sunday of the year is scheduled for Sunday, September 28TH. The goal is $37,000. Please make plans to help us reach our goal so that our mission efforts both locally and abroad may continue.
We would like to invite every man in the congregation to attend. The elders have scheduled Keith Parker from Hendersonville Church of Christ to speak to us about Walking in the Light in this Dark World. In addition to our speaker, we have plenty of activities scheduled for fellowshipping with each other. Information and sign-ups will be in the main foyer each Sunday until October 12TH. For more information, contact Scott Anderson, Paul Lewis, Franklin Smith, Joel Parks, Todd Foutch or Greg Hubbard. If you would like to carpool up Friday night after your children trick-or-treat, see Rob Hartman or Steve McCarthy.
