God’s Word for Warriors

North Rutherford YMCA Ronald Reagan Family Center

This Class, “God’s Word for Warriors”, resolves to address several situations our military veterans face in their goal of

normalcy upon returning home following deployment. In seeking to assist our veterans in “reconnecting” with our culture, this course is designed to inform our members who are veterans (WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan), as well as other veterans as an outreach within our community, and assist them in facing the various issues involved in their lives following deployment.

Classes start on Sept. 25, 2018 at 4:00 PM at YMCA and will continue each Tuesday for 15 classes. (Except for Nov 20, Dec 25 & Jan 1)

Spouse which would like to accompany the military veterans to is welcome to the class.

The course of study will follow the path of the “Faith and Culture: God’s Words,” a class taught at Lipscomb University by Dr. Tom Seals, Professor of Biblical Practice and Chaplain to Student Veterans. One of the major problems confronting many veterans is that it is often difficult to “connect with supportive people and new opportunities” (“A New Focus on the “Post” in Post-Traumatic Stress.” The New York Times, December 25, 2012). Over the next several weeks, this class will address these needs through a program of spiritual and community support for these veterans. A text for the course will be: God’s Word for Warriors: Returning Home Following Deployment.
