We participate in the Smyrna Welcome Wagon program and receive names and addresses of about 75 newcomers to Smyrna each month. On Saturday, March 4TH we are inviting the January list and the parents of children in our day school programs to a Get-To-Know Smyrna breakfast where Robert Stevens will share info about our town’s history and current civic activities. Our staff will then share what’s going on in our church family, and take folks on a tour of the building. It’s just a simple way to sow seed. Please pray for success.
All women of the congregation are invited to our next Women at His Well devo and dinner, hosted by Marietta Walden, which will be held on Monday, February 27TH at 6:30PM in the Fellowship Hall. The menu theme will be “Foods You LOVE to Prepare”. Sign up at the Welcome Center if you plan to attend.
Mark your calendars for the next family game night on Friday, March 3RD at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your family, your favorite games and snacks and join us!
There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Sunday, March 5TH at 3:00PM in the small auditorium for all those going to Honduras June 14-21. Please note the March 10TH deadline to turn in at least $630 per person. Missions MUST have these funds by that date, or you could lose your space as they have a waiting list for the trip. Additional information will be provided at the meeting.
Remember when we tried this for the first-time last year? Our LIFE groups, and many others of you, brought tons of Good Stuff, spread it out in our parking lot, and over 300 folks from the community came and benefitted from our generosity. It gave us a chance to visit with people, tell them about our church family and activities. And it was great fun just to give Good Stuff away. Hope you plan to clean out your closets, cabinets and garages this year and participate. We need to start setting up about 7:30 and be ready to open the give- away by 9:00. What to bring? Household items, tools, lawn, garden and sports equipment, clothing, furniture but NO electronic devices! Be sure everything you bring is GOOD and in working order. More info later. Please pray for success.
We have had 80 teachers who have taught 1,005 students in 86 countries since actively beginning this program. Six have taught lessons in last 30 days. Interested? See Vick Zacharias.
It’s not too early to put this on your calendar. We need a lot of workers to visit with Smyrna folks as they stroll by our tent down by the depot. Plus, we have a lot of activities, games, a tall, inflatable slide, a bounce house, etc., for kids and families set up in our parking lot. It’s a great place to talk with Depot Day attendees and invite them to visit us on Sunday. Please plan to help and pray for success.
